Dr. Simon Campbell is a consultant gastroenterologist and an accredited bowel cancer colonoscopist with more than 20 years of experience in the field. He graduated from medicine with honors from Birmingham University and then he had extensive training on luminal gut problems in Edinburgh, Oxford and Liverpool. He has worked as a consultant gastroenterologist and as the research lead for IBD at Manchester Royal Infirmary and now he is predominantly a private practitioner based in Cheshire, while maintaining part time contracts with the NHS for the special bowel cancer screening program.
He is renowned for his expertise in irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and the most advanced endoscopy techniques. He has more than 100 publications in peer-reviewed journals and is an honorary senior lecturer at both University of Salford and the University of Manchester.
He holds many prestigious positions including IPC member at the British society of Gastroenterology, member of the editorial board of Crohn’s and Colitis UK and he was also made a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians.
